FREE PRACTICE 1: Team Rosberg Audi on Top in Belgium 

With clear blue skies and bright sunshine the final weekend of the 2010 FIA GT3 European Championship got underway at Zolder in Belgium with the first 60-minute Free Practice session.  The nr4 Team Rosberg Audi R8 LMS of Gregoire Demoustier and Michael Ammermueller set the fastest time of the session with a lap of 1:31.321, 0.9 seconds quicker than the rest of the GT3 field.  The race winning Prospeed Competition Porsche 911 GT3 R of Marco Holzer and Paul vam Splunteren was second fastest, 0.006 seconds ahead of the nr27 Belgian Audi Club Audi R8 LMS of Greg Franchi and Enzo Ide.  The second Free Practice session is due to start at 13:05 (local time) and qualifying for Rounds 11 & 12 will take place at 17:00.

FREE PRACTICE 2: Hexis Aston Quickest As the Heat Gets Turned Up in Belgium 

The unseasonal warm weather continued as the second Free Practice was staged at Zolder.  At the end of the second 60-minute session of the day the top of the class was the Hexis Aston Martin DBRS9 of Frederic Makowiecki and Manuel Rodrigues with a lap of 1:31.792, 0.471 seconds slower than the best time in the morning session.  The Marc VDS Ford GT of Maxime Martin and Gael Lesoudier was just 0.089s adrift of the top car on the team's home circuit, with the Need for Speed by Schubert Motorsport BMW Z4 of Claudia Huertgen and Csaba Walter third quickest.  Newly crowned FIA GT3 European Champions Daniel Keilwitz and Christian Hohenadel could only manage too set the 18th fastest time and have a lot of work to do ahead of the qualifying sessions later this afternoon at 17:00 (local time).
